Vietnam elected to UN Human Rights Council for 2023-2025 tenure

Vietnam has been elected to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) for the 2023-25 term, alongside 14 other countries. As the only ASEAN candidate, Vietnam's campaign message of "Respect and Understanding. Dialogue and Cooperation. All human rights for all people" was supported by other countries. Vietnam's active participation in the UNHRC's activities, particularly in the Core Group on Climate Change and Human Rights, has been recognized by the international community. Vietnam will have a stronger voice on key UN and international issues, such as the 2030 Agenda, climate change response, migration, and the rights of women, children, persons with disabilities, minorities, and migrants. Vietnam has been a bridge promoting cooperation and dialogue between countries, accelerating the UNHCR's fair, progressive approach towards people in areas such as reproductive health, violence against women, and gender-based violence.
